The electorate is too scared they might destroy the economy. It is that simple. Since the last election, the NDP have lost support to the Liberals and to the Greens. They don't want an election because they know their support is eroding quickly. Their best hope is to support the current Tory government for a long a possible so they can try and shore up support. They can't cozy up to the Liberals anymore as they have panned them over the past year and a half.

Layton is in a tough spot. I suspect he will hang on long enough to either stabilize support (unlikely) or until support evaporates (likely).

When you are NEVER going to be in power it is easy to criticize the party in power. It gets tiresome after a while. I hope the Greens pick up most of the sagging NDP votes and not the LiberalsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14377350.post-1168220930730055232007-01-07T17:48:00.000-08:002007-01-07T17:48:00.000-08:00I want them to talk. I do not want them to offer up musy, please everyone policies. I do not want them to poll for policy.

Layton is so tempermentally conservative and unwilling to do anything bold that Canadians have lost interest in the party. You would be hard pressed to find anyone outside of political junkies and NDP die hards the know the first thing about NDP policy.Kobyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03407275645274060038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14377350.post-1168189135640662022007-01-07T08:58:00.000-08:002007-01-07T08:58:00.000-08:00They have walked the walk provincially and the rec...They have walked the walk provincially and the record they have is dismal.

Especially on the environmental front.

Who would have thought the NDP would have the police arrest old ladies for protesting the cutting of old growth forests? Accusing them of stifling productivity. There are more examples, they escape me right now. Elizabeth May did a good job on CBC: One on One with MNansbridge where she highlighted the pitiful record.

The federal NDP only talks and everyone that only talks does so ideologically. They would be no better than the cons on the environment should they ever form a federal governement.Jayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17404234601709022496noreply@blogger.com
