How do you justify leaving Brad Richards off the team in favour of Carter? Carter had a good year last year, but Richards is playing way better than Carter right now.

Carter is alot bigger and alot faster. He is also better in his own end and one of the few snipers Canada has. He had 46 goals last year and Richards best is 29. Carter is not having that bad a year either. Yes he only has 30 points, but the number of shots on goal he has, 171, is still high and suggests a better second half pointwise is likely. Average players never generate that many shots.

OK, fair points. Richards has more assists than Carter has points though. Just think about Richards on a line with St Louis again, with the comfort level that those guys already have together. If you put a shooter on there with them, that line could do a lot of damage.
