Goodyear and the Conservative's Elitist Talking Point

Now that the Conservative minister of Science has demonstrated that he does not know the first thing about Darwinian theory, it would be a perfect time for the Conservatives to attack Ignatieff as an elitist for accepting a position at Harvard.

So remind me, please, why a minister needs to know anything about Darwinian theory?

Every quasi-intelligent person on the planet should have at least a rudimentary understanding of evolution.

When a Minister, of 'science' no less, demonstrates the ignorance that Gary Goodyear has demonstrated over the last couple of days, I say he should be removed from the post immediately. It is inexcusable.

Since when has it been established that knowledge of the theory of evolution is the embodiment of all sciences?? People can exhibit solid scientific knowledge without having a strong background in evolutionary theory... or even believe in it.

Anonymous 6:18, your argument isn't even an argument. Sounds like you're out to discredit someone just for the sake of political expediency. I wonder what your scientific background is like.
